OPPORTUNITIES

The following are six opportunities available to churches to assist them in their efforts to reach hurting, needy people.

Referral

Churches have the opportunity to refer anyone to Love INC who comes to them asking for help. Love INC will analyze for the church the nature, extent, and legitimacy of the need and help make the proper referral to either a helping service or a church. Churches, in order to be a part of the solution to the referred needs, should participate in other Love INC opportunities.                                                 

Prayer

Prayer is the most essential and greatest opportunity for the church to be involved with Love INC.  Without prayer, the work of Love INC to reach the hurting with Christ's love will not succeed. Prayer partners are needed to pray regularly for Love INC.

Resources

A Church Ministry Coordinator (CMC) develops the church inventory of talent and resources. Love INC notifies the Church Coordinator, and the Coordinator arranges for church resources to meet the need.

Volunteers

Volunteers operate Love INC. Phone workers, clerical help, board members, etc., are needed. The church has the opportunity to help identify volunteers who have a heart to help the needy through Love INC. Without volunteers, Love INC cannot exist.

Benevolence

Pastors or committees with funds to help the needy are often torn as to whether or not the money they are distributing is going to a legitimate need or feeding abusers who use the churches. The church can set up a direct fund on quarterly, semiannual, or annual basis to help meet financial needs that Love INC has identified and determined to be legitimate. Love INC notifies the church of specific, limited financial need, and the church then handles the distribution of the money for the need.

Support

Love INC, as an organization, needs finances to operate the telephone lines and office. Churches have the opportunity to regularly support the organization (separate from benevolence giving). Many churches support Love INC as part of missions since Love INC reaches the unchurched. The church and Love INC together can share Christ's love with people in need and changed lives.
