Residents of Southeastern Cameron County who need food, clothing, budgeting assistance, car repairs, home repairs, transportation, counseling, friendship, family help - all kinds of needs - call the Love INC Clearinghouse office and request help. They are either referred to the office by churches in the area, local agencies or by neighbors and friends that have recommended that they contact the Clearinghouse office. 

The Clearinghouse in-take personnel briefly interview the person requesting help to obtain necessary information. This is done in order to assess the request for assistance to ensure that the needs referred to churches and their volunteers will be legitimate, well-defined and manageable. The office researches not only the need, but also the best available local resources.

Upon processing the request, the Love INC Clearinghouse may refer the request to local church volunteers, or to a local service agency, a helping organization or a local ministry. Love INC is committed to meeting needs without duplication of services.

Requests for services are referred to a Love INC Church Ministry Coordinator (CMC). Love INC trains every CMC to identify the volunteer and material resources within his or her church. The CMC matches a volunteer from the church with the neighbor in need.

The Love INC Clearinghouse follows up with both the Church Ministry Coordinator and the person who has asked for help to make certain the helping experience fully achieved its goal.
